The objectives of the training course “Optimizing Communication and Collaborative Relationships with Subordinates” are:

  • Define conflict and courageous conversation,
  • Understand and integrate the benefits of conflict in an organization,
  • Know how to use formal and informal spaces for effective communication,
  • Develop interpersonal skills.

Target audience:

The training course “Optimizing Communication and Collaborative Relationships with Subordinates” is designed for managers at all levels within the company:

  • Executive Committee and Strategic Management, Middle Management and Local Management.

Prerequisites:

No prerequisites for enrollment in the program

Duration & Organization

Individual or group training (max. 8 people/group).

The training takes place over two days, which may or may not be consecutive.

The course

The "Optimizing communication and collaborative relations with subordinates" training course is structured around six main modules:

Module 1: Analyzing the notion of conflict

  • What triggers it and what feeds it, 
  • What regulates it and what makes it productive.

Module 2: Analyzing communication

  • Defining communication, 
  • What it is and what it isn't, 
  • What serves it and what harms it.

Module 3: Using techniques to optimize daily communication

  • Managing emotions, 
  • Empathy, 
  • Non-directiveness, 
  • Non-violent communication.
Part

Module 4: Understanding company organization

  • The company project, 
  • Functions, missions and performance, 
  • Management.
Part

Module 5: Developing your professional communication

  • The collaborative relationship, 
  • Formal and informal communication, 
  • Recognition, 
  • Well-being at work, 
  • Annual maintenance.
Part

Module 6: Setting up an action plan

  • Individual action plan, 
  • Collective action plan if necessary.

We recommend organizing a half-day training session for practice analysis and/or feedback three to six months after the training with the various participants. 

Individual coaching is also available on request. 

Target skills

The training course “Optimizing Communication and Collaborative Relationships with Subordinates” is designed to help participants acquire:

  • Skill #1: Knowing how to identify situations that give rise to "emerging tensions."
  • Skill #2: Listening to others and using techniques to improve communication.
  • Skill #3: Knowing how to use various communication techniques in a work setting.

Teaching resources, methods and supervision techniques

During the training course “Optimizing Communication and Collaborative Relationships with Subordinates,” participants are guided by an expert trainer. The trainer uses the following techniques, among others: 

  • Individual tests,
  • Theoretical input,
  • Role-playing,
  • Fun exercises,
  • Work in sub-groups
  • Set up a personalized and/or collective action plan.

 

Course Requirements

There are several possible organizational arrangements:

Means of organizing face-to-face training

You have a choice of training courses: 

  • On the premises of ORIENTACTION, based in Le Mans,

  • On-site: The trainer conducts the training at your company’s location (travel and accommodation expenses are included in the quote). 

Ways of organizing distance learning

Training will be carried out via synchronous distance learning using the ZOOM tool.
Connection links to ZOOM will be provided by the Training Center. 

Remote pedagogical and technical support and assistance

Support and assistance are provided by the same trainer who conducts the training. This support and assistance are provided via email or, in case of an emergency, by phone. The trainer’s contact information is provided to the participant at the start of the training. The trainer must respond within 48 hours. If the trainer cannot be reached after this time has elapsed, the participant may contact the academic director, whose contact information is provided in the welcome booklet.

Measures to monitor the implementation of the initiative and its results

  • At the end of the training, the beneficiary completes a certificate of attendance,
  • He/She also takes a knowledge assessment quiz,
  • At the end of the training course, the beneficiary fills in a satisfaction questionnaire to assess the benefits of the training.

All training requests are accompanied by a quote specifying the total cost (including tax) of the training, as well as the dates of the sessions. The quote is sent electronically via email. Once the quote has been accepted and the training agreement signed, the training may begin.
