Objectives

The objectives of the training program “Managers Who Inspire Meaning” are:

  • Promote a meaningful managerial approach by developing managers’ ability to connect their employees’ actions to the five pillars of meaning within the organization.
  • Develop messaging that managers can use when communicating with their employees to help them feel a greater sense of purpose in their day-to-day work.
  • Share best practices and discuss challenges , and address barriers through a training program that will also give managers the opportunity to connect with one another and foster a sense of belonging.

The training program “Managers as Agents of Meaning” is designed for managers at all levels within the company:

  • Executive Committee and Strategic Management, Middle Management and Local Management.

Target skills

The training aims to develop five skills for conveying meaning, based on the five pillars of meaning in organizations:

  • Skill #1: Provide context by linking the employee’s actions to the organization’s economic challenges.

  • Skill #2: Provide meaning by linking the employee’s actions to the customer’s or user’s experience.

  • Skill #3: Providing meaning by linking an employee’s actions to the needs of other employees in the organization.

  • Skill #4: Provide meaning by linking employees’ actions to the benefits they derive from their work in their personal lives.

  • Skill #5: Provide meaning by connecting employees’ actions to major social or environmental issues.

Teaching resources, methods and supervision techniques

During the “Meaning-Driven Managers” training program, participants are guided by an expert trainer. The trainer uses the following techniques, among others: 

  • Brainstorming,
  • Knowledge transfer,
  • Concrete examples and case studies,
  • Practical exercises,
  • Educational tools,
  • Role-playing situations.

Course Requirements

Means of organizing face-to-face training

You have a choice of training courses: 

  • On the premises of ORIENTACTION, based in Le Mans, 
  • On-site: The trainer conducts the training at your company’s location (travel and accommodation expenses are included in the quote). 

Ways of organizing distance learning

Training will be carried out via synchronous distance learning using the ZOOM tool,
. Links to ZOOM will be provided by the Training Center.

Remote pedagogical and technical support and assistance

Support and assistance are provided by the same trainer who conducts the training. This support and assistance are provided via email or, in case of an emergency, by phone. The trainer’s contact information is provided to the participant at the start of the training. The trainer must respond within 48 hours. If the trainer cannot be reached after this time has elapsed, the participant may contact the academic director, whose contact information is provided in the welcome booklet. 

Means for monitoring action implementation and results

  • At the end of the training, the beneficiary completes a certificate of attendance,
  • He/She also takes a knowledge assessment quiz,
  • At the end of the training course, the beneficiary fills in a satisfaction questionnaire to assess the benefits of the training.

People with disabilities

The training is open to the general public, and all types of disabilities will be accommodated within the limits of the skills, human resources, and equipment available as part of the training program. If ORIENTACTION does not have the material, technical, and human resources to meet the needs of a participant with a disability, that participant will be referred either to the ORIENTACTION group’s disability liaison or to a partner organization within the ORIENTACTION network. 

Access procedures and deadlines

All training requests are accompanied by a quote specifying the total cost (including tax) of the training, as well as the dates of the sessions. The quote is sent electronically via email. Once the quote has been accepted and the training agreement signed, the training may begin.
