Training and career start
Emeric Lebreton began his academic career with a degree in psychology, followed by a Master's specialized in organizational psychology at the University of Nantes. After graduating top of his class, he decided to pursue his doctorate in Nantes. His thesis focused on conspiracy theories and rumors.
The aim of this thesis was to show the role of emotional involvement in the level of activation of two representations, the collective representation of "the individual deserving what happens to him" (Farr, 1987, 1992) and the "conspiratorial mentality" (Moscovici, 1987, 2006), and thus on the birth and spread of the causal rumors associated with them. He completed his thesis in 2009 with the congratulations of the jury, which included Nicolas Roussiau, his thesis supervisor, and Serge Moscovici (1925-2014), the father of French social psychology.
At the same time, he works as an occupational psychologist and skills assessment consultant for the AFPI network, the training centers attached to the UIMM, and the CCI du Mans. He is also a temporary teaching and research associate at the Tours IUT, where he teaches organizational psychology and communication psychology.
