Teaching resources, methods and supervision techniques

The teaching methods used in the training program are based on a number of different elements:

  • During the informational interview on skills assessment, training participants are asked to conduct mock interviews in front of the other participants. The other participants and the trainer provide feedback on the participant’s performance using an evaluation rubric, and then offer suggestions for improvement.
  • With regard to administrative tasks, training participants compile a complete administrative file that enables them to conduct and certify the successful completion of the skills assessment.
  • As part of the course, participants work in groups and individually to develop a detailed outline for the thesis they will subsequently write.
  • As for the final presentation, trainees participate in a day of role-playing exercises that simulate a panel of judges to prepare them for real-life conditions.
